State Representative Gary Click has announced that the Ohio House of Representatives has unanimously passed House Bill 65, known as the Agriculture Appreciation Act. This legislation is designed to officially recognize several significant agriculture days within Ohio state law.

The bill identifies key observance periods including FFA Week, 4-H Week, National Farmers Market Week, Ohio Soil Health Week, and Stormwater Awareness Week, as well as Agriculture Day on March 21st and Farmer’s Day on October 12th. These are aimed at raising awareness of agriculture’s vital role in the state.

"Agriculture is critical to the well-being of our state and Ohioans," said Click. "Without our agricultural community, Ohio’s food supply and economy would be in significant danger. I am thrilled to see the Buckeye State supporting agriculture by raising awareness of its contributions to Ohio’s communities."

Agriculture remains a leading industry in Ohio, with an economic impact exceeding $100 billion. It provides employment to one in seven Ohio residents, highlighting its significance. The state boasts over 75,000 farms, with 90% being family-owned operations.
