COLUMBUS – State Representative Gary Click (R-Vickery) has issued a statement regarding a recent temporary restraining order placed on HB 68, the SAFE Act, and Save Women’s Sports Act by a Franklin County Common Pleas Court judge.
In his statement, Representative Click expressed his reaction to the court's decision, stating, "We are disappointed but not surprised by this decision. The battle to protect children's rights is a marathon, not a sprint." He also highlighted the potential for eventual victories based on patterns observed in other states.
Regarding the constitutional aspects of the issue, Click emphasized, "It deserves to be reiterated that there is no constitutional right to sterilize or chemically castrate children." He further criticized the pursuit of treatment plans that could harm children's mental health and physical well-being, calling for the regulation of the healthcare industry in this regard.
Acknowledging the role of Attorney General Yost in the legal process, Click expressed confidence in their collaboration to protect the children of Ohio. He stated, "We will cross the finish line together and protect all of Ohio’s children to the fullest extent of the law."
The statement by State Representative Gary Click reflects his determination to continue advocating for the rights and well-being of children in Ohio amid legal challenges to the SAFE Act.
