There were 740 students enrolled in South Central Local Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.3% more than the previous year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.5% of them were girls, and 49.5% were boys.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 91.9% of the South Central Local Schools total enrollment.

South Central Local Schools roughly covers three schools within Huron County and has a main office in Greenwich.

Among the three schools in South Central Local Schools, South Central Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 394 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is an improvement for the state and is lower than the national average of 1:16.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
