5.6% of citizens unemployed in Erie County in 2021

Erie County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 2,150 people out of the 75,560 living in Erie County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Erie County has decreased compared to the 5.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Erie County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 36,225 people who had a job during that time, 20 were employed in the Armed Forces and 36,205 belonged to the civilian labor force.
